the space between existence and not is a monster. god is not a monster and can be seen kicking the shit out of leviathan in job, psalms and isaiah. god could be considered existence to the extent that one has no fucking idea about god. hatred is a condition of loneliness, and who could be lonelier than god or a monster? my capacity for ambivalence is the result of having friends. ambivalence is part of the human condition. human beings can be said to be distinct from god or monsters to the extent that you have no fucking idea about god or monsters. god and monsters remain undiscovered. while one can encounter sasquatch footprints or ecstatic visions and light, connection remains elusive. to be dis-covered means the removal of a cover. in the absence of the cover, the discoverer himself is negated because the covery (as opposed to the dis-covery) functions to define him. the act of discovery not only reveals the discoverer to be both god and monster, but negates its own existence as soon as it comes about. in this act, all are lost from certainty including the act itself. the act of discovery can be said to be an act of love. love then reveals human as both god and monster and is outside its own realm of discovery. therefore, love is only available to those who do/do not exist outside the realm of certainty and who are by definition undiscovered and alone. |
